We LOVE Kokum Butter! Have you tried it? Many people use it as a substitute for cocoa butter, but it really should be used in it’s own right! It is fantastic for dry skin, melting upon contact and reinvigorating the skin cells. A lot of people use it for their heels, lips or other chapped skin. Being that winter is right around the corner, we figured we would give you a recipe for an all-around Kokum Butter Body Lotion recipe. Many people use the product raw, but if you are looking for something a bit fancier, try the recipe below!
2 Tablespoons Kokum Butter
2 Tablespoons Beeswax (If you prefer a thinner product, add less beeswax)
1 Tablespoon Almond Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Aloe Vera
1/8 teaspoon Coconut Milk
1 Tablespoon Vitamin E
2 Cups Water
1 Glass Canning Jar
Boil 2 cups of water in a sauce pan over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat.
Put 2 Tablespoons beeswax into glass canning jar.
Add almond oil and butter to beeswax.
Lower the glass jar into the hot water to melt the mixture.
Stir Vitamin E, coconut mil,k and aloe vera into the heated mixture.
Stir until completely mixed.
While liquified, pour into your empty 4 oz. jars.
Let cool and cover with the lid.
Enjoy! This recipe has a shelf life of 2 years, so it’s a great product to store and use! You can also make some nice labels to put on your jars and give as gifts!
**As with most recipes, you can add your favorite essential/fragrance oils to add a bit of scent to the final product!
