You should begin with basic candle-making supplies to create a unique candle. At Bulk Apothecary, we offer everything you need to create your candle. Here are a few candle making supplies to get you started:

Candle Wax

You’ll need to start with the basics to create your unique candle. Candle wax is one of the bases for creating a candle. You can choose a variety of waxes, including soy wax, beeswax, paraffin wax, and others. Soy wax is a more natural wax choice as it burns fairly clean. Beeswax may offer a longer burning period. Paraffin wax can produce bright colors while remaining affordable.

At Bulk Apothecary, we offer natural raw candle wax. You can choose from yellow or white beeswax, Golden wax, and ocosoy wax. We also have organic wax options for your candle making.

Candle Wicks

Candle wicks are another candle making must-have item. Wicks are a crucial element in candle making because they are what you burn in your candle. You can choose from natural wooden wicks or cotton tip wicks. Wooden wicks can give your candle a unique crackling sound while it burns. Our candle wicks can be placed easily in your candle. You can purchase our candle wicks in bulk to reduce the cost of each wick.

When selecting a candle wick for your candles, be sure to get the right size for the containers you’ll be using. Larger candles may need more than one wick to burn evenly. We have wicks ranging from three to eight inches, with different thicknesses.

Candle Dyes or Pigments

You may want to use a dye or pigment to create your candles. We offer liquid candle dyes as well as candle color blocks. You can choose one or both of these options to experiment with different colors and vibrancy. Liquid dyes blend well with most waxes.

Color blocks may be more precise for measuring, and you can mix and match the blocks to create your own color palate. We have collections of dye blocks of one tint, or you can choose a sample of several colors to blend or make layered candles.

As you dye your candles be sure to write down how much of the dye you used so that you can recreate it later. We offer a variety of colors and shades for you to choose from to make your uniquely colored candles.

Candle Fragrances or Essential Oils

Fragrances are a big part of what customers look for when searching for the perfect candle. Adding essential oils or fragrances to your candles is an excellent option if you want to sell them. We offer fragrance oils, gel fragrance oils, and essential oils for you to choose from. Our oils are made in an FDA-approved facility right here in the United States.

You can choose from our premade mixtures like cucumber mint or mix and match for your own fragrance. Some of our fragrance oils were made to be similar versions of popular scents, such as lavender vanilla or warm vanilla sugar. For those making gel candles, you can choose from a similar variety of fragrance oils made specifically for gel candles.

Essential oils are also available on our website. Essential oils can be another great option for creating your own unique fragrance. You can blend two or more scents to create a therapeutic candle using oils like lavender, lemon, mint, and cedarwood. These oils can have calming or healing effects for your customers as they burn.

Candle Molds and Containers

Other candle making supplies you’ll want to purchase are molds and containers. You can choose candle molds in various shapes and sizes. They range from cylinders to blocks, giving you many options to choose from.

We offer different styles of containers that can give your candle a unique feel to them. Some examples are copper moscow mule mugs, metal pails, wooden dough bowls, and small clay pots. If you want a more traditional candle, we have many shapes and sizes of glass containers.

Each of our containers is heat resistant and made specifically for candling making. The type you choose for your candles can show the unique style of your candle. If you use multiple colors in your candle, consider choosing a clear container to showcase all the colors. Pillar candles are a good example, where they have layers of multiple colors and fragrances. You can also show your creativity by creating your own candle label. We offer a variety of packaging and labeling options.
