Thick, creamy and ultra-moisturizing, you can kiss dry skin goodbye and breathe a sigh of relief knowing exactly what you’re putting on your skin! Making your own lotion is simple and it’s easy to customize with fragrance oils and essential oils. You can make exactly what you’re looking for without stepping a foot inside a store!

This recipe combines all of the best moisturizing butters and oils with a light, creamy fragrance. Your skin will be smooth and silky and will smell oh-so-good!


1 cup Shea Butter

½ cup Coconut Oil

½ cup Sweet Almond Oil

1 TBS Vitamin E Oil

2 tsp Almond Coconut Milk Fragrance Oil


  1. Combine the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler or similar set-up.
  2. Over medium heat, melt the ingredients together stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly (about 10 minutes) before stirring in the sweet almond oil, vitamin e oil and fragrance oil.
  4. Place the mixture in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. The mixture should begin to solidify but not be frozen.
  5. Using an electric mixer, whip the mixture on high until creamy and fluffy. It should look like butter cream frosting when it’s done.
  6. Scoop into airtight jars for storage and enjoy!

  1. I’ve tried this but once it’s done and whipped it starts to melt over again to liquid what do you do to prevent that

    1. I double boil the harden butters to melt the butters, then add my oils. I then put them in the refrig. For about an hour. After it get hard I add my fragrance and blend together then put in my jars. As long as it’s not in warm temperature it shouldn’t melt.

  2. What is a good oil to replace almond oil for clients alergic to nuts? Can i replace with jojoba oil and if so, how much to use?

  3. I tried a similar recipe, but like everyone else I had trouble with it melting and I didn’t cook it or melt it prior to mixing. Also the greasy residue it left afterwards was the worst.

    However, I found Bulk Apothecary’s body butter/heavy cream base to be an absolute miracle! I don’t think I’ll ever use another lotion! I actually made this exact scent using their body butter base and I am completely in love. Thank you Bulk Apothecary!
