This sweet scrub is as beneficial as it is tasty. Using sugar to gently exfoliate dry skin and sweet almond oil and vitamin E to nourish and moisturize, your lips (and taste buds) will jump for joy every time you scrub them!
You’ll Need:
1 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Sweet Almond Oil
2 TBS Vitamin E Oil
Jar(s) (We like the Mini Heremes Jars for scrubs)
Blend the first three ingredients together into an even mixture. Add in the cotton candy flavor oil, starting with a small amount and working up, until you reach your desired flavor intensity. Scoop the completed mixture into an airtight container for storage and use as needed.
To Use: Gently massage over lips to slough away dry skin and rinse with water. Follow with your favorite moisturizing lip balm for soft, silky lips.
Cotton Candy Lip Scrub Recipe
What is the recommended shelf life for this recipe?
Fro best quality, it is recommended that this be use within 3 months.
Would using some small amount (maybe 0.5%) of a broad spectrum preservative (in case wet hands ever dip into the scrub) be safe for use on or near lips? It would certainly extend shelf life.
Also, what % of flavor oil is recommended? Or approximately how many drops for this size batch?
Thank you.
For safety, it might be best to stay away from using preservatives on/near the lips. We recommend a maximum usage rate of 5% for the lip balm flavors. Hope this helps!
Does the cotton candy have a scent to it as well as the flavor>?
It has a slight scent, since it is a lip balm flavored oil meant for taste purposes.
