Made From the Heart: Dried Rose Petal Bath Salts

I’ve mentioned before that I love giving bath salts as gifts. First of all, they’re easy to mix up and look oh-so-pretty when packaged in a jar and tied up with a bow (get crafty!). Not to mention, it’s simply a lovely gesture that anyone can use- men included (we all need a relaxing soak every now and then don’t we? Yes we do.). This recipe is just beautiful. The look, the scent, all of it. Simply beautiful. The beauty of the dried rose petals mixed with the raw colorless salts makes for an aesthetically pleasing blend when combined together in a glass jar. Perfect for gift giving.

Today I’m being a little greedy and making this for myself. After a few long days of traveling, my body is just aching for an evening of relaxation and some sweet botanical bath salts are just what the doctor ordered! You should make some too.

So grab your supplies and let’s make a batch of beautiful salts!

You’ll need:

And you’ll do this:

  1. Place the sea salt in a Ziploc bag and add 6-8 drops of the rose essential oil (more or less depending on your desired strength of fragrance).
  2. Seal the bag and shake to combine the salt and the essential oil.
  3. Add about 1/3 cup of dried rose petals to the bag (more or less depending on how many you want speckled throughout your salts) and repeat step 2.
  4. Pour finished salts into a glass jar for storage (and display-so make it pretty!) and add to bath water whenever your body craves a relaxing soak.

    1. It should work well in pouches; the recipe should last around 6 months, provided that completely dried rose buds are used.
