Skincare Maker Business Owner
Thank you for taking the time today to share with us more about you and your business. Can you introduce yourself for our viewers?

Hi! I’m Emily, the creator of Everbee Natural Home and Body in Lincoln, Nebraska. I started Everbee in 2024 with a love for creating and a heart for natural living. What started as making lip balm in my little apartment kitchen has grown into a small business. When I’m not in my studio, you’ll usually find me with a coffee in hand, cheering on the Huskers, spending time with my husband, or dreaming up my next creative project.

Handmade Soap
What inspired you to start creating and selling your products?

I’ve always loved being creative and have a passion for all things local and handmade. Everbee started in my little apartment kitchen in January 2024 when I began making small changes to the products I used every day. The first thing I made was lip balm! I wanted something simple and natural, made with ingredients I felt good about using. After lots of testing and perfecting my recipe, I realized how much I loved the process and wanted to share what I was making with others. Since then, Everbee has grown in ways I never imagined, and I’m constantly finding inspiration in the world around me. I worked at a flower shop throughout high school and college, which only deepened my love for the beauty of nature and all the little details found in it. I’m always inspired by the changing seasons, natural textures, botanicals, and the beauty in everyday things. I love finding ways to bring those little pieces of nature into the products I create.

What do you love most about creating your products?
I’ve always loved being creative and making things with my hands, whether it’s baking, working with flowers, or trying something new. I love the process of taking simple ingredients and turning them into something beautiful and useful.
What is your personal favorite product you have created?

Peppermint lip balm will always be my favorite! I have one in my purse, my car, my nightstand, pretty much everywhere. It was the very first product I ever made, so it will always have a special place in my heart.

Handmade Chapstick
What is one piece of advice that has helped you in your business?

It’s about the process. It’s about staying curious, even when life is messy, which is often. Life is spent more in everyday routines than in the ‘big’ moments, so choose your rhythms intentionally. Courage isn’t a feeling; it’s showing up, even when you’re not sure how. There’s no curtain reveal; no one’s got it all figured out

What are some of the biggest challenges you and your business face?

One of the biggest challenges is learning how to balance all the different parts of running a small business. I love the creative side of Everbee, but there is also so much that goes on behind the scenes, from making products and managing inventory to marketing and getting my name out there. As a small business, you wear a lot of different hats! I’m still learning as I go, and I think one of the biggest things is being patient with yourself and allowing your business to grow over time.

What is your favorite Bulk Apothecary product and how do you use it in your business?

I love Bulk Apothecary’s essential oils! If I had to pick a favorite ingredient, though, I would say shea butter. I love the texture of shea butter and how it feels in my skincare products. At Everbee, I focus on using simple, natural ingredients and lightly scent my products with 100% pure essential oils instead of synthetic fragrances. Bulk Apothecary makes it easy to find high-quality ingredients with so many options to choose from, which I love as I continue creating and growing my business!

Handmade Lotion
We are proud to be a trusted supplier for your ingredients! Can you share what your inspiration behind the name of your company?

Everbee started in my little apartment kitchen in January 2024 while I was making lip balm and listening to “Ever Be” by Bethel Music. I spent so many nights in that kitchen making products, trying new recipes, and figuring things out as I went. That’s how Everbee Natural Home and Body came to be! I wanted a name that was unique and meaningful, with a little story behind it. It’s a name I truly love, and reflects my heart and brand.

That is a great story! Do you have any words of wisdom to offer any aspiring makers?

My biggest piece of advice is to just start! It’s going to be messy, and you probably won’t have everything figured out, but that’s okay. There are so many free resources and YouTube videos to help you learn along the way. Give yourself time to figure out your brand and style, too. Use what you have to start, and remember that it’s okay for things to change as you grow.
