Make Your Own Fog Juice for Spooky Halloween Events or Dramatic Effects

We all know that Bulk Apothecary is the best source for vegetable glycerin be it for soap making, lotions, and more. But did you also know you can make your own fog juice with it?

What You Need

  • Vegetable Glycerin
  • Distilled Water
  • Measuring Cup
  • Fog Machine (of course)

Guidelines

Basic composition of fog juice is very simple: glycerin + water. Specifically, 1 part glycerin to 3 parts water.

However, if you want to have thicker, denser fog, you use more glycerin. If you want normal, thinner fog you would use more water. It’s pretty intuitive but we will give you some basic guidelines all the same.

Thick, dense fog: 30% Glycerin, 70% water.

Thick, smoky fog: 20% Glycerin, 70 % water.

Thinner smoke: 15% Glycerin, 85% water.

Other Information

Why distilled water?

If you have or are renting a fog machine and want to keep it clean, it’s a very important step to keep minerals out. They can build up and wreck the machine.

How do I store it?

If you buy glycerin from us in our gallon jugs, that is the best container to use for this purpose or any other empty gallon. Keep in a cool, dry place.

Remember to always empty all unused fog juice out of your machine afterwards!
