In this spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Claira Osborn, owner and formulator behind Pure Beauty Glam, a growing skincare brand rooted in natural tallow. Claira’s passion for creating thoughtful, high-quality tallow skincare and her commitment to the craft make her a wonderful example of what’s possible in the handmade beauty space. We’re honored to share her story with you.
Caira, we are so excited to showcase you this month. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Claira Osborne, and I am the owner and founder of Pure Beauty Glam. I have been creating tallow based skincare for over 3 years, rooted in natural living. Growing up, my parents instilled in me a deep respect for natural, traditional ways of caring for the body. That foundation shaped how I view health, beauty, and self care today. As a teenager, I struggled with acne and tried countless pharmaceutical and commercial products with little success. Frustrated and insecure, I began researching natural alternatives- and that journey led me to tallow skincare. Through consistent use, my skin is glowing, balanced and radiant! Inspired I began formulating tallow based skincare to help others skin conditions! Pure Beauty Glam exist today to help others feel confident in their skin and experience the beauty of simple, nourishing natural ingredients!
What inspired you to start creating and selling your products?
My family comes together in Genesee, Idaho once a year to butcher cattle for our yearly meat supply. For years, we discarded all the excess fat, until I decided there had to be a better use for it. That idea sparked my journey into rendering tallow and experimenting with soap making. After batch after batch, my family began encouraging me to sell my products. Over the past four years of creating natural tallow skincare, I’ve helped countless people find relief from their skin conditions.
What do you love most about creating your products?
I get to control the quality of my products, and see how important it is to always find reputable suppliers.
What is your personal favorite product you have created?
Youth serum or charcoal facial soap bar
What is your favorite Bulk Apothecary product and how do you use it in your business?
The high quality of your essential oils. I use a variety of your essential oils for a wide scale of my products. My favorite is bakuchiol essential oil for my youth serum.
What is one piece of advice that has helped you in your business?
Collaborate with small local businesses!
What are some of the biggest challenges you and your business face?
The biggest challenge is not having orders come in every day and still pursuing them, especially at the beginning of my business.
What was your inspiration behind the name of your skincare line?
I wanted to inspire people that skincare should not be chemically made. Pure= clean ingredients. Beauty = beauty comes from a clean lifestyle. Glam= you can look and feel your best with natural, handmade products
What is your favorite part of the creative process?
Interacting with customers and seeing how much my tallow products have cured their skin conditions and their children’s skin problems!
From where do you draw your inspiration to create your products?
My mom has always been natural and made everything from scratch. She and my dad have always taught me if you want something, learn how to make it and share your knowledge!
What values does your business embody?
Clean local ingredients, hand made in small batches to ensure high quality, supporting other local small businesses, teaching others to make clean skincare is easy and fun for all ages to learn!
Do you have any words of wisdom to offer any aspiring makers?
Don’t give up! it has been 4 years of hard work and I’m finally getting a steady income. Business and making a brand for yourself takes time.
