Tea Tree Essential Oil is the perfect addition to your collections and routine!
So, I must admit until this past year, I really didn’t know the depth to which essential oils can impact and improve our lives. Yeah, I knew a few names. And sure, I’ve used a few products that have contained an essential oil or two, but I had no clue what I was missing out on until I started researching the TONS of oils that we carry at Bulk Apothecary. When you get to know all of the amazing things you can do and treat using just what comes from nature, you definitely start to question the need for the drawer full of store-bought products and treatments cluttering up your home.
If you’re new to essential oils, start out like I did. Pick an oil and research all the ways you can use it and what all it does. Then pick another and do the same. You’ll be pretty knowledgeable on the basics of essential oils in no time!
Today I took the work out of it for you here’s a simple, straightforward rundown on Tea Tree Oil. Just the basics. It’s a good one to know. It’s been used for centuries to combat and cure numerous ailments, and here are a few ways you can use it in your everyday life:
1. Acne
Apply morning and night to the affected area and do not rinse.
2. Nasal congestion
Put a few drops of tea tree oil into the water of your humidifier, or boil a cup of water add a couple of drops of tea tree oil and inhale the vapors.
3. All-purpose cleaner
Pour 2 teaspoons tea tree into a spray top bottle and fill the remainder of the bottle with water. Use this as an all-purpose cleaner that fights bacteria.
4. Headache
Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a warm damp cloth hold the cloth over the face to inhale the vapors. You can also use this with a steam facial method using a towel to create a tent over your head to hold the vapors in.
5. Lice Control
Mix about 3 to 5 drops into every ounce of your standard shampoo that you use.
6. Skin tags
Apply tea tree oil to the skin tag using a rubbing motion. Repeat the process several times a day until the tag falls off.
7. Insect repellent
In a spray bottle mix 2 ounces of tea tree oil and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Shake to mix prior to use.
8. Ticks
Apply tea tree oil to the skin surrounding the tick to encourage the tick to release.
9. Itchy scalp
Apply tea tree to the scalp to relieve itching.
10. Flea bites
Apply the oil directly onto the bite to help ease pain and itching. Repeat as needed.
11. Mosquito Bites
Apply directly to the mosquito bite to relieve itching. Repeat as needed.
12. Ingrown hairs
Apply 1 to 2 drops to the affected area every few hours until the infection resolves.
13. Mold Killer
Use approximately 2 teaspoons tea tree oil mixed with 2 cups water and apply directly to the mold. Let sit for 20 minutes and wipe away.
14. Wart remover
Apply a couple of drops of oil directly to the wart both morning and night until the wart is gone.
15. Dandruff
Apply tea tree oil to your scalp and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse after the allotted time.
16. Athletes Foot
Apply a coating of tea tree oil to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day. Continue the treatment for up to 2 weeks after the area has cleared to ensure that the fungus is completely gone.
17. Treat a cold sore
Apply tea tree oil directly to the cold sore several times a day can help reduce the severity and the duration of the outbreak.
18. Antiseptic
Apply directly to minor cuts and scrapes to help reduce the possibility of infection.
19. Joint and muscle pain
Mix tea tree oil with an unscented lotion or cream, or try coconut oil and rub onto painful areas.
20. Nail fungus
Paint tea tree oil on the affected nail 2 times a day for a minimum of 2 months. Resolution comes over time as the nail must grow out.
