This month, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the skincare and candle maker, Aubrey Lindsey, an extraordinary talent in the maker community. Aubrey’s passion for creating high quality products with both you and Earth in mind have us in craving more.
Ollie Lue Soap Co. is a woman-owned and operated skincare and candle company combining a love of science, nature and self-love.
Inspired by mother nature + love of the earth, all products are cruelty-free and eco-conscious packaging is used. Their background in biology fueled their love of all sciences and utmost transparency for product ingredients.
From start to finish, all products are made with you and the earth in mind.
Aubrey, we are so excited to showcase you this month. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hello! My name is Aubrey. I’m a wife, mother and the owner of a skincare and candle company, Ollie Lue Company.
What inspired you to start creating and selling your skincare and candle line?
I’ve been making skincare products for 15 years due to my own allergy to deodorants. Once my son was born, he had a dairy allergy so severe that every product used needed to be evaluated. So I decided to make his own homemade skincare products and it’s blossomed to where I am today.
I love how personal the journey began for you and I am sure many mothers appreciate this as well! What do you love most about creating your skincare and candle products?
I love the customer interaction. Having people buy my products is such a dream come true. When I hear feedback on any product at all I’m so thankful to be making a difference in people’s lives!
What is your favorite part of the creative process? Least favorite?
I love to design soaps. Coming up with a theme for a soap is one of my favorite things! I’ll gather my fragrance oils, colors, and start pairing things together and come up with a color scheme to match! I have a book where I will draw out my designs and go from there.
Least favorite part, dishes! That is a part of the process and I do not like to wash all of the dishes after making soap.
I can relate to the lack of love for the dishes! As someone who cares about the types of products they use and create, can you share with us the values your business holds when it comes to skincare and candles?
Small batch – everything is made in small batches or is limited edition. Eco-conscious – every thing I do in my business I think about the impact it has on the environment. I recycle everything I can and use biodegradable packaging where I can as well. Quality ingredients – I buy only from reputable companies with values I align with. I also ensure my products are cruelty free, always. Giving back – I always donate soap to local women’s shelters and give back to organizations that mean a lot to me.
