That Spring air is making us feel like teens with acne again. So many little breakouts, so much dry skin, so many skin issues! As a response, we made a lovely, all natural moisturizer cream to apply after your normal serums or all on its own, too.
Modify yours if you want but we totally recommend making this moisturizer and enjoying the benefits. We’ve tested it and absolutely love it! (It even protects you from sunburn!)
All Natural Moisturizer with SPF Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
- 3 tsp Beeswax
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil (76 Degree)
- 2 tsp Vitamin E
- 1 tsp Zinc Oxide
- 5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
- 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Instructions
Add sweet almond oil, coconut oil, and beeswax to a heat safe/microwave safe container. Melt (over stove using double boil method or in microwave for about 2 ½ minutes) until the mixture becomes a clear liquid.
Add vitamin E and Zinc oxide and stir until evenly combined with no lumps. If a creamy consistency is desired, add this mixture to a bowl and mix for a few moments on low using a hand mixer.
Add essential oils of choice (we used tea tree and lavender) if desired while mixing with a hand mixer if using the creamy moisturizer method. Essential oils are not necessary for this moisturizer, we just love the benefits of lavender and tea tree!
Gently pour/spoon your all natural moisturizer into a clean container of your choice and allow it to set in the fridge or in a cool, dry place.
Use
Store in a cool, dry place.
To apply, dip one (clean) finger into the container and get about a pea sized amount of moisturizer out. A little bit goes a long way with this one.
Gently poke your face in different areas to apply a little bit of moisturizer to each area. Spread carefully around the entire face, chin, and neck. Avoid getting in or under your eyes as that area is super sensitive and can require a different type of product.
Replace lid and place it back in cool, dry place until next use.
