We’ve posted recipes for making candles in the past, but not how to color. The fact is, coloring is easy. Just follow the below recipe and add a color block. The color blocks for candles are sold in various colors in tiny little cubes. To color a 16-ounce candle, you don’t even need 1 whole cube. You can cut the cube into fours. Obviously, more color bars will give you a darker color, so some testing may have to be done to find the color you are looking for. Otherwise, just follow the recipe below. When you fill the jar with the beeswax, just place the 1/4 of a color block onto the top of the beeswax pellets. When the candle goes into the oven, the product will melt together and mix on its own. Coloring your candles is a super simple way to get what you’re looking for without the store-bought price.

This is the absolute easiest and quickest candle-making recipe we have. This recipe is for the beeswax pearls (yellow and white available) with one essential oil. We did our best to break it down in the simplest way possible. Once you get the hang of this recipe, it’s pretty easy to start adding other ingredients like mixtures of essential oils mixed, and finishing the candles with some fancy packaging. This will get you started.

*Please note you can make this recipe even easier by omitting the essential oil. The beeswax pearls have a very slight honey scent, so if you are sensitive to smells, you can leave out the oil.

Ingredients:
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
  2. Glue the bottom of the wick to the bottom of the candle jar. Hold the wick up while you fill the surrounding jar with the beeswax pearls and put 1/4 color block on top of the pearls.
  3. Once filled, put in the oven for approximately 40 minutes or until the beeswax has completely melted.
  4. Once melted, fill with the desired amount of oil (the candles are pretty large, so you can add the full 1/2 ounce if you want a strong scent). The wax will harden quickly.
  5. Cut wick down to size, top with jar lid and your candle is ready to go!

These are so simple to make and are wonderful gifts. You can make various sizes and save so much money creating your own candles instead of buying the expensive ones at your nearest retailer! Plus, once you’re comfortable enough making them, you can experiment and get more creative!
